Kandi Burruss has teamed up with Pastor Marvin Sapp to drop a new single, "Stay Prayed Up," that's earned praises from some and criticism from others. The single pairing the racy singer and the pastor officially debuted on Monday.
On Monday, Kandi gave thanks for the successful debut tweeting, "My song with @MarvinSapp Stay Prayed Up is #1 on #iTunes gospel music! Thanks everyone for the love & support!"
While some might think that Kandi's sexually candid web series Kandi Koated Nights and line of adult toys called Bedroom Kandi, make her an inappropriate candidate for recording gospel music, Marvin is standing by his work with Kandi. On Sunday, the pastor posted on Facebook, "Been in services all day and didn't get the opportunity to see #RHOA but I wanna thank @Kandi for sharing her heart through song in a different genre and asking me to be apart of that process," before encouraging fans to purchase "Stay Prayed Up" on iTunes.
Kandi released her second solo album, Kandi Koated in 2010.
