Jill Scott has been hired to co-star in CBS' drama pilot Second Sight, which is based on a British psychological thriller of the same name.  According to Deadline, Jill will play Dr. Callier, an eye specialist who treats the show's main character, a New Orleans detective who is hiding the fact that he has an ocular disorder that causes him to have frightening hallucinations.

Last year, Jill co-starred in Lifetime's Steel Magnolias, and her resume also includes the starring role in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.  She also appears in the upcoming movie Baggage Claim.
